It preserves a canvas by Monocolo Pietro d&#8217;Asaro, representing the Holy Family depicted with Saint Anne, Saint Joachim and a donor with a basket of fruit; the marble statue of the Madonna delle Grazie from the Byzantine era; a reliquary from the 18th century; the wooden choir from the 18th century in Louis XVI style; an oil painting depicting the Virgin of Sorrows by the painter Francesco Sozzi; a marble statue representing Lecce Homo of good workmanship and by an unknown artist; a baptismal font from the 17th century and other works of lesser value. <\/p>\n<p>Church of the Holy Spirit, with an adjoining convent and cloister of the 17th century observant minor friars. The convent was built by order of Donna Antonia Balsamo Bonanno and Friar Antonio Nocera on the remains of an old oratory. The church, with three naves, preserves a marble statue from the early 17th century representing the Madonna with Child of the Cagini school and a crucifix by an unknown artist, celebrated every year on May 3.  <\/p>\n<p>Church of Saints Philip and James from 1662. The Benedictine monastery was built next to the church, now restored and used as a registry office. The church, one of the most beautiful in Canicatt\u00ec, is now awaiting reconstruction and restoration. Inside, sacred objects of great value and numerous stuccos from the Serpottian school were preserved.   <\/p>\n<p>Church of San Diego dal Cal\u00e0, protector of the city. The traditional Good Friday procession, dating back to 700, is organized in the parish. It is still deeply felt by the population. The Via Crucis or the statues of Christ of the Sorrowful Madonna, of Saint Mary Magdalene and of Saint John, sees the participation of the religious, political, civil and military authorities of the city.   <\/p>\n<p>Church of Santa Maria del Carmelo, built at the end of the 16th century together with the convent of the Carmelite friars. At the beginning of the 19th century the Church was rebuilt at the expense of the sulphur miners and after the suppression of the religious orders the convent was demolished and in its place were built the house of the Fascist Party, today the building of the Guardia di Finanza, and the social municipal theatre. <\/p>\n<p>Church of Santa Maria degli Agonizzanti, built by the Barons Adamo and once the seat of the Confraternity that assisted those condemned to death. Inside there is an eighteenth-century canvas by the painter Guarino, depicting the Madonna assisting the dying.   <br>Church of San Giuseppe, built in the 17th century and remodeled in the following centuries, next to what was once the hospital for the poor and is now the college of Maria. The interior preserves a wooden statue of San Giuseppe, the work of Bagnasco, and a wooden coffered ceiling of fine workmanship. <\/p>\n<p>Church of San Biagio, which already existed at the end of the 16th century and was entrusted to the Augustinian Fathers in the 19th century. The interior preserves well-made 18th-century paintings, an ancient statue of San Biagio and a valuable wooden statue of Our Lady of Sorrows. Church of San Francesco from the end of 501, once owned by the Conventual Friars. The Church preserves a statue of the Immaculate Conception, considered miraculous by the population, crowned in 1954 by the Archbishop of Palermo Ernesto Ruffini, Queen of the city.   <\/p>\n<p>Church of San Domenico, from 1612, with an adjoining convent, once of the Dominicans. The Church preserves two ancient statues, San Domenico and San Tommaso, found during some restoration work. <\/p>\n<p>Church of Madonna della Rocca, built in the 18th century and renovated in the 1970s.
